"It looks like an island from here."
"Wow. You have a 270 degree view!"
"This home just seems to conform to the land."
These are some of the observations that people have made about this piece of land. It really is unique, and as far as we know, it's the most acutely angled point lot on the entire lake. The architect for the house had a vision to create a structure that was unique in two very specific ways:
First, because of the depth of the lot from the street, he envisioned excavating the land down enough to situate the house in such a way that the family would be able to enjoy the lake on the same level as they entered the house. Most lake homes are entered from the street on the upper level and then, because of the grade of the land sloping down to the lake, occupants have to descend stairs to get to the lake level. For this project, the land was excavated significantly to allow for this single-floor effect. We think it's genius and have enjoyed the resultant access to the lake and the views immensely.
Second, as you can see in the aerial photos, the house is in a modified "C" shape. This was done in order to maximize the site lines out the windows to be able to see the lake from as many places in the house as possible. This is why you see "wings" on the house as it stretches out toward the Office on one side and the Great Room and Master Suite on the other. Of the 119 windows in the house, the lake is visible from 111 of them!
This is truly a custom designed home--designed exclusively for this particular piece of property.
No other house on the planet has this unique shape. The wings of this modified "C" shape are positioned for maximized site lines from the house to the lake. 111 Windows view the lake.
Notice the unique grade lines of this home. The lot was graded and molded to fit a unique split-level home in harmony with the shape of the lot. To accomodate this effect, the home has living spaces on seven different unique levels.
Built on a uniquely acute point on the lake, this home is surrounded on three sides by water.
It's very rare to find a lake home that allows you to enjoy the lake on the same level you enter the home.
