One of the most unique spaces in the house is the Great Room and the indoor/outdoor porch area. The center piece is a REAL wood fireplace rising high into the room with the same Texas Chardonnay stone as the front exterior of the home. An audacious TRIPLE sliding glass door disappears from view into the wall to effectively double the space of the room by including the back porch. Automatic screens descend on all three sides of the porch to completely enclose the space in, while overhead heaters warm the space in cool months. The Great Room now has more view than wall with windows circling all around. This is all crowned with the lofty hand-hewn cedar beams and an overlook balcony from the top floor hallway.
Why are real fireplaces so rare these days? They provide so much joy and ambiance. Gaze out the windows to a frozen lake and landscape around you while you sit cozily by the gas-lit fire with a good book.
Move the slider to see the large (and very expensive) Cantina doors slide open and closed to add the heated porch space into the Great Room
Now use the slider to show the porch with screens down and screens up. Enjoy nearly year-round indoor outdoor magic with the screens down and the infrared heaters on.
The Great Room combines with the dining area and the porch to form a very large entertainment area for very large groups.
